Day 11: Rockport Music Festival

I started my Saturday by going to the Rockport's First Music Festival (picture on the top right) and I helped selling tickets for beverages. I have to say i think it went well even though it was really hot outside. So when my small shift was done i decided to go to downtown Rockport and visit the shops their. On my way there i stopped at the beach because there was alot of kites in the air and i had to take a picture (pic. on top left). After i went to the shops at Rockport i went to eat and then after a while i went back to the Music Festival.

Day 9 & 10: Computers

As you can tell by the title Day 9 & 10 have been all about computers

So I'm not sure if i have already said this but at the Chamber of Commerce I do work that has to do with Economic Development.

One Day 9 I fixed a list of almost 20 buildings that have no business in them.
and today Day 10 (6/9/2011) I started working on the EDC website. (Just adding more stuff to it to make it better )

It kinda seems like i didn't do much know that i have it in writing. But i did. I actually really enjoy interning at the Chamber cause I'm always busy and in a way I am helping a community.

By the way, Rockport-Fulton area is hopefully going to be full this weekend. Because The Rockport Music Festival is going on and hopefully that is a big success

Day 5: Pictures

Well these are the picture i took on Saturday, June 4. The first thing I did was go to the beach. There wasn't alot of people at the beach it felt kind of empty in the morning (but as time passed more people came).

I wanted to read my book when i was at the beach b
ut it was so beautiful and clean that i could only read a few pages

I did see a jellyfish but luckily i did not get stung. I also saw some fishes in the water After
I left the beach I went to
the Boiling Pot. where the serve seafood Cajun Style.

After I was finished eating
i went to the Rockport Aquarium
and Th
e Texas Maritime Museum in Rockport (which has Accreditation from the American Association of Museums ..Less than 10% of museums have this )

Day 5, 6, 7, & 8: Need to remember

I need to remember to do this blog or i will have to play catch up like I am today

Day 5 & 6 where on Saturday and Sunday which I really enjoyed. I went to the beach, the aquarium and the Maritime Museum on Saturday (Day 5) and on sunday (day 6) i just went to church and relaxed.

I will post my pictures up on day 9 (tomorrow) of what i did on Day 5

Day 7 (June 6 2011): This really was an off day for me I felt like I could not do anything like i was suppose to and felt very awkward. I blame it on my phone dying during the night and then sleeping more than what i was suppose to. Things like that always make me feel like the day has gone wrong. Luckily, I wasn't to busy in the chamber that day.

Day 8 (Today, June 7): Was a productive and good day or so I feel. (My alarm went off so thats always a good thing). Today I went to a committee for the Chamber Banquet, a City Hall Meeting and i got to see the chamber give an award for business of the month

I also went and played Bum-co today (I'm positive thats not how you spell it...but thats the closet i'll get right now) and I was doing pretty good for a while ...but i did have fun.

Day 3 & 4

So, Day 3 was all about typing and Day 4 all about meetings

Today, June 3, I attended two meeting and then went back to the office an the then went to a youth leadership graduation...

Yesterday, June 2, I typed so much, I don't think i have ever typed so much. (Maybe the reason this blog is short)

So happy its Friday i get to rest and see Rockport-Fulton. But, I am looking forward to all the thing I will be doing next week. Some how I like being busy. =)

Day 2: the visitor center

So today, June 1, was day two in my so far wonderful internship in the Rockport-Fulton chamber of commerce. Today I got to see how a chamber of commerce visitor/call center works in a small town like Rockport Texas. At first I felt completely clueless and had no idea what to tell the people that came in and were calling. Fortunately, there were these wonderful ladies, the chamber of commerce "charmers", and I got to see and pick up some information from them on how to help the people visiting the chamber of commerce.
Most people wanted to know what do in the Rockport-Fulton area and I helped them get information on the Maritime Museum, The Bay Education center, and the Fulton Mansion among other thing (most of which I still haven't seen but looking forward to getting to know). Then some other people asked for directions which I am not really able to give being that I am not familiar to the Rockport Area, but luckily most people asked where the beach was and I was able to tell them that. It was a slow day for visitors in the chamber of commerce but it seemed like the rest of the people were very busy.

In some other news I got to skype with family back home and I miss them but I am still very glad i got to the opportunity to do this internship
